Personal Statement:
I am an experienced individual, marital and family psychotherapist/social worker practicing for 30 years.
Many people experience suffering, anxiety, confusion and depression due to their unique and difficult circumstances and problems. Over the years I have worked with children, university students, cancer patients and people who have been sexually abused as well as persons experiencing life changes, such as illness or divorce.
I now specialize in counselling for psychotherapists in training, individuals with physical health difficulties and people experiencing the life transitions of middle age or of elderhood.
I believe that when you understand the mental and emotional aspects of your difficulties, process your thoughts and feelings and tap into and utilize your own innate healing wisdom, you connect with your spirit and find strength and direction. Your awareness of new perspectives and possibilities expands and feelings of confidence and inner harmony increase. I assist this process with deep listening and intuitive inquiry, using methods such as Jungian Psychoanalysis, dream work and expressive therapies (art, writing, sandplay).
No matter how early the trauma or sudden the tragedy or longstanding the difficulty, the human spirit or psyche reaches for light and wholeness. I am honoured to facilitate and support this process of growth and change.
Certifications, Memberships, Accreditations:
Anne is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and was a certified Therapist/Supervisor with the Canadian Association for Play Therapy, but is now retired from that role. She has EMDR and critical incident training. Anne is also a Jungian Psychoanalyst trained at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland and she offers Jungian Psychoanalysis.
