Why do I want to be a Psychotherapist?

There are many reasons why I want to be a psychotherapist. I find myself drawn to this field as it aligns with my beliefs that we are capable of growth even when faced with difficulty, and that connection and support can help us tap into this inherent ability. These beliefs inform my practice and helped motivate me to pursue psychotherapy. I have also been motivated to become a psychotherapist, as I have a deep curiosity about human experience and how unique each experience is. Having the opportunity to understand your story and work alongside you in your journey is a privilege that also motivates me. The power of human connection has been a core value in my life, which has also guided me to this work. My sense of spirituality has also been a guide, as I hold a pluralistic view and see spirituality as a resource for growth. I would like to create a space where spirituality can be spoken about and included without judgment. My past experiences in school and work have also inspired me to become a psychotherapist. The
opportunities to connect, help, and learn alongside others have been meaningful and fulfilling. In this field, I hope to continue sharing these experiences and creating a space where they can occur. Finally, I am driven to create and share experiences that help people feel heard and
understood. This has motivated me to become a psychotherapist and continues to be something I strive for personally and professionally.

Overall, I want to be a psychotherapist to walk alongside others on their path of growth, sharing a connection, to co-create genuine and judgment-free spaces, and to have the privilege to know you and your experience
