Anxiety & Depression Counselling
Feeling anxious and depressed are experiences that are common to every single human being. However, there are times when either anxiety, depression or both can be extremely challenging in one’s life. Anxiety & depression can keep individuals from participating in meaningful relationships and activities. There are proven research based therapeutic approaches that when used properly can be of great assistance to those experiencing the pain. The challenge is that many individuals are not aware that there is help and suffer in isolation. Our trained therapists will work with you to help you develop new ways to respond to the anxiety & depression so you will be able to more fully enjoy your life.
More on Anxiety Disorders
At the Delton Glebe Counselling Centre we do not make any formal anxiety disorder diagnosis as that can only be done through a psychiatrist nor do we prescribe any medication for dealing with anxiety. Medication must be prescribed by a general practitioner (doctor) or psychiatrist. However, we regularly work with individuals who have either been formally diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and/ are on medication. Our therapists help provide tools to more effectively manage day to day struggles with anxiety. Some clients feel that regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions with a therapist become part of their larger toolkit to successfully treat their anxiety.
Here is a partial list of anxiety disorders which we can help you work through:
