Grief & Loss / Bereavement Counselling

At some point in life we all will experience a loss and the need to grieve.  Grief is the emotion produced by a loss and can be a very powerful experience.   Every individual has their own way to process loss.  Some need to experience a deep cry while others need to get back to work.  There is no ‘right’ way to grieve.  However, there are times when the grief following a loss gets in the way of everyday life.  This is where a trained therapist can provide some assistance.  As you talk with your therapist about your experience of loss the goal is to support your grieving and to help you integrate this experience of loss into your ongoing life.

Examples of loss we help clients with include:

  • Loss of a family member or spouse
  • Loss of a partner
  • Loss of a friend
  • Loss of employment
  • Loss of a pet
