Individual Counselling | Therapy
Individual Counselling or Therapy is an opportunity to sit one on one with a certified trained therapist to talk about the things that are important to you. Individual counselling can be short-term or longer term and is dependent on the goals of the client. Our therapists employ a variety of research based therapeutic approaches to help deal with the issues that are brought to the counselling sessions.
Finding the Right Therapist for You
One of the benefits of reaching out to a counselling centre is that we have access to multiple therapists. All our therapists qualify for membership in the College of Registered Psychotherapists and/ College of Registered Social Workers. In addition, they each must have clinical supervision (they must report to an experienced clinician). The therapeutic relationship which is the relationship between client and therapist is often considered the hallmark of successful treatment. The quality of that relationship often determines the success of treatment. As a result during our initial intake with you we commit to learning as much about you as we can in an effort to match you with the best possible therapist. We often try to match the life experience & training of a therapist with the concern that brings you to therapy. However, if for whatever reason you’d want to see a different therapist than the one we matched you with that is no problem at all. Our primary objective is getting you the best possible care.
